These are pictures from the Yo! MTV Raps party at the Puma store in Soho, NY. Though I wasn't on the guest list and the line outside was too long for me to see the end, I bypassed all of that with the help of my friend Paperchasr from Sneakerplay. I have to admit that I have only been in the Puma store twice prior to this event and couldn't remember anything about it. Once I stepped in the store I noticed everyone talking to someone with drinks in their hands as if this was a lounge they have been to before. It wasn't crowded but it wasn't empty either. There are 2 floors with an open bar on each and enough room on the lower level to dance if you chose to. Dj Evil Dee was spinning on the bottom floor while 2 barber chairs were setup on the main floor for actual haircuts. The line for the bar was always long. You would see some people with 2 drinks, myself included, just so they didn't have to get back on line. Dj Evil Dee kept the crowd moving by playing some classic HipHop (Symphony, Top Billin) and the barbers were giving dudes pretty good haircuts. Overall I enjoyed the event minus the fact that none of the rappers Pumas were on sale. I really want the Big Daddy Kane Puma because he's from Brooklyn and is one of my favorite rappers from 80's. Now all I need is some sneaker company to make a Kool G Rap sneaker and I'll be happy.
