GOODBYE 255 NIKE iD

As the title states, this is a farewell post to 255 Elizabeth st(NIKE iD) since Nike has decided to relocate the design studio to Niketown. I have been going to Nike iD faithfully for over 2 years & have to say that I truly will miss it. 255 had the coolest staff and the best music. You might hear Jay-Z songs, Gnarles Barkley, Motown hits and Dipset instrumentals. The staff were always helpful, very down to earth & hilarious at times. From the smile of the pretty female at the front desk (pick one), to the cool design consultants that helped me choose between using contrast stitching or not. When designing, I never felt like I was being rushed or being kicked out right after I finished. All of the employees were knowledgeable in other things besides sneakers. They knew the neighborhood & could tell you where to get good Thai food, which lounge to hit up or where to buy a good pair of jeans.

Besides the staff, I loved the location of the design studio. I'm really not a fan of midtown so I'm automatically bias against the new location. 255 was near all of the main sneaker stores in NY. You could walk 2 blocks to Clientele or Supreme, around the corner to Laces or down the block to Classic Kicks. Nort/Recon is also close by & Flight Club is a 10 min walk away. I have no idea what will be pop up at 255 in place of the studio but whatever it is, it wont be 255 for me. I wish the staff good luck wherever they go from there and thanks for great conversations, unlimited Voss(water) and help with my kicks.

NikeId moving to Niketown

As some of you may or may not know, the Nike design studio (255 Elizabeth st.) is relocating to Niketown later this year. Before switching locations, the Nikeid studio will be reopening Thursday August 9th with the same previous designs (dunk highs/lows & air force 25's). Many people, including myself, thought that Air Max would be the last design for the studio. Hopefully Air Max will return when they switch to Niketown. I for one am not pleased with Nike closing 255 & will definitely miss the nice staff & cool enviroment.
